Having played for over 15 years and entering his sixth year of coaching, Marko joins the Phoenix family ready to develop the next generation of athletes and show them the impact that sports can have on your life. Sports were the vehicle that helped Marko develop his leadership, resilience, communication, problem-solving, selflessness and teamwork skills, and to this day, he continues applying the many lessons he learned throughout his everyday life. He also teaches others how to do the same, as he brings his talents to Phoenix for the 2024-25 season as the Head Coach for the 14U Boys program. In addition to his coaching, Marko spends his summers coaching at Team Ontario, where he helps prepare and equip the top athletes in the province with the necessary skills in hopes of contributing to future Volleyball Canada National Team programs. Marko is a 3x ALL-OUA Academic & 3x U Sports Academic All-Canadian that competed for the former Ryerson Rams throughout the 2014-2018 seasons. Throughout his time there, he helped them make 4 consecutive appearances to the Final Four Tournament and captured a silver medal in their 2015-2016 season. Outside of work, Marko enjoys playing a variety of sports (e.g., basketball, table tennis, disc golf, etc.), reading and cooking. He aims to bring his meticulous attention to detail and nurturing attitude to continue growing the game and giving back to the sport that gave him so much.
