Greg attended Ryerson University from 2007 to 2011 where he earned a Bachelor's of Commerce and Masters of Arts in International Economics & Finance while being a high performance athlete. Greg was Ryerson Rookie of the Year 2007 and OUA All Rookie Team 2007. Greg went on to be a Mens Canadian Nationals Open Silver Medalist 2012 with the Eurohaus Club. He continued his career with head coaching for Toronto West Volleyball Club from 2013 - 2019. We are so happy to have Coach Greg to help out the Skybirds team this year.
Andrew is a 5-time national champion, represented Canada at the 2017 U21 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Nanjing, China, and played 5 years of varsity volleyball as a libero for the University of Toronto (UofT) Varsity Blues. Andrew began his coaching career in 2017 by starting his own private coaching service, which to date, has produced 11 Provincial and 4 National Beach Volleyball Championships. In 2018, he became the Head Coach of the Titans Beach Volleyball Program and joined the UofT Men’s Volleyball coaching staff in 2020 and continues to recruit for the program. In 2021, Andrew began coaching with the Canadian Beach Volleyball National Team, where he continues to serve as an assistant coach with the Summer NextGen Program. This past December, Andrew served as the head of the Canadian delegation at both the U19 and U21 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Phuket, Thailand. Andrew has recently been announced as Team Ontario's Head Coach for the 2022 Canada Summer Games [Men's Beach Volleyball]. When he’s not coaching, Andrew teaches at St. Michael’s College School.
Arran is a 2 time national champion with the University of Alberta Golden Bears Men's Volleyball Team. He was on the U21 Indoor Junior National team with whom he attended the World Championships and FISU Games. Arran played 2 years of professional volleyball in Germany until he moved on to playing on the sand. Currently, Arran is a Beach National Team member. Arran has coached with us on the beach for three years, leading the high-performance athletes. This is Arran's first year coaching indoor with Phoenix and we are so proud and happy to have him when his busy schedule allows for it.
