David Kiswa has been with Phoenix for 4 years now. Starting off on the boys side, he assisted technical director Alain with his team and went on to head coach the girls’ 16U Fury team last year. He is currently studying the General Arts and Science program at George Brown College to pursue his career in the teaching field. Coach David also played for the George Brown College Men’s Volleyball varsity team during the 2023 season for which he received accolades - Second Team All-star, East All Rookie team and George Brown Men’s Volleyball Team MVP.

Pedro played 3 years with his provincial team in Ecuador which gave him the chance to then play for one of the most well-known teams in the country called Club Ducks. He played semi-professionally with Club Ducks for 8 months before moving to Canada. Pedro is currently a libero for the George Brown Huskies, and last year he had an excellent rookie season finishing 4th on the East Side of the OCAA. This year he will be playing with George Brown again and they hope it will be a great season! Pedro is excited to be coaching the 15U Burn team this year!

Julien has been playing volleyball since he was 13 years old. During his club years, his teams consistently finished in the top three in the province. In high school, he was a part of the Team Ontario Indoor Team for 1 year and the Team Ontario Beach team for 3 years. He was then recruited to play for the Windsor Lancers men’s volleyball team, where he played as a middle for the past five years. In 2023, the Lancers team achieved a historic milestone by finishing 2nd in the OUA for the first time in the program’s history. In the same year, Julien was a member of the Beach Next-Gen Summer Team, where he had the opportunity to train with some of the best beach volleyball athletes in Canada. Julien regularly plays in various beach tournaments across Canada. We are very lucky to have him dedicate some of his time to the Ignite team!
